Faulty ReadyNas Duo RND2120 v2 - Flashing Lights

Hi there, I am having an issue with my RND2120 v2.

When I switch it on,

  1. Fan is on full speed
  2. Blue Power light is flashing
  3. At same time act, drive 1, drive 2 and light above backup button are all flashing (in shape of diamond) at same time as blue power light.
  4. The nas in question is showing on RAIDar but no firmware version is shown and I am unable to access the admin page or browse to it on the local network.

Assuming there is a firmare or software fault here. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Happy to try using a USB image of software if there are any clear instructions anywhere?

Thanks in advance :cathappy:

  • You seem to have no disks instaled, but I think you must have at least one disk for the OS to be installed.

Thanks, ok if I insert a drive, the other lights go off, but the blue one continues to flash. With a drive inserted, the NAS does not show in raidar and I am completely unable to see it or ping it on network.

Was the inserted drive new/fresh without any partitions? It may be necessary to delete all partitions (in a PC) or force a factory default on the NAS. See these instructions.
