FTP in R4: no resume with disk spin down

Hello there,
I experienced something quite annoying.
R4 (original)
Smart FTP client uploading from XPSP2 to the NV +
File is one Zip of 145 MB
Spin down of disks at 45 min inactivity

The file never fully transfers because the disks spin down and after a while try to spin up but cause a timeout that resets (without resume) the FTP connection and transfer.

Is R4's FTP designed to prevent spin downs of disks or did you forget to design it like that ? Is it a bug?
Let we know if I can help (logs or tests).

May the whatever helps be with you!

  • I go to the local update page, choose the image file and begin the update process. RAIDar shows that it is updating for about 5 minutes then it disappears from RAIDar never to be seen again. All I get is blinking blue power light on the 1100. Power cycle does nothing. No network activity and no other lights. I was forced to take out the usb flash disk and reflash it using rawrite32.exe. First I reflashed with R4. 1100 still will not boot up. I had to flash R3 back on there. Once rebooted I could not access the admin console. I had to hold down power button for 5 seconds at boot up to reinstall image onto 1100. Finally seems like it was back to normal. I decieded to try the update proccess again. Same exact issue!! I already sent in log files.
