Hard Disk Compatibility for RN526X
I have one RN526X running with WD Red 4Tb X 6 Hard drives.
I want to upgrade all hard disk drives with new 8Tb Drives.
I got rates for 8Tb SEAGATE ENTERPRISE - ST8000NM017B drives from local market.
But, this model is not in compatibility list for this NAS.
Moreover that older models which are shown in the list are not available anymore in market.
Please guide this model of drive will be fully compatible with RN526X or not.

Netgear was always quite slow in updating the HCL, and now that all ReadyNAS systems are end-of-life, I don't see them ever updating it again.
NAS-purposed CMR drives ( WD Red Plus or Seagate Ironwolf) will work in any ReadyNAS. I recommend not using WD Red drives (which are SMR) or desktop drives.
Enterprise-class SATA drives like the Exos are also fine. My own OS-6 ReadyNAS systems mostly run a mix of WD Red Plus and Ironwolf - although my RN202 does have an Exos drive (model ST14000NM001G) , which is working well.
Note you do need to be careful to get SATA drives and not SAS - not an issue here, as the ST8000NM017B is SATA.
I always test the drives in a PC (using Seatools for Seagate drives) before putting them in the NAS. I run the long (non-destructive test), and follow that up with the "advanced" full erase test. I run both because I have had drives that pass one of these tests but fail the other. It takes a while, but I'd much rather uncover any disk problems before I put them in a NAS (and I have had drives fail out-of-the-box).
