- prometheus1Aspirantwell after a low level format with seatools i reinstalled the drive and gave the ultra a reboot and it started the rebuild.
My concern is that will happen again.
I have noticed that other people have had the same issue and posted on here about these drives, why are they still on the hardware compatible list if there are issue with them. - evan2NETGEAR ExpertCould you send log to me? I need to check raid information and which partitions dropped.
- prometheus1Aspiranti will send you the logs when i return from work and thanks for the reply.

- evan2NETGEAR ExpertI have checked kernel.log, It is the Seagate "FLUSH_CACHE_EXT" bug.
Seagate drive has this "FLUSH CACHE EXT" hang problem, the symptom would be exactly same as described:
Entire disk(all partitions) not responding, only power cycle can bring it back.
Seagate recently admitted this issue, they have a test firmware to address this hang issue.Apr 15 16:36:59 Orac kernel: TCP: Possible SYN flooding on port 36130. Sending cookies.
