- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThey should fit in any desktop ReadyNAS. Why?
- steveoelliottLuminaryI meant the caddy not the disk itself.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThat's what I meant to.
The disks can only be moved between NAS models running the same OS.
I was wondering why you might wish to reuse the trays in different model. - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
The NV+ v1 caddies will also fit in the duo v1, the NV+ v2, the duo v2, the ultra and pro desktop products. They won't fit the new RN1xx, RN3xx, RN5xx products, and they won't fit any of the rack-mount NAS. BTW, they also fit the EVA9150 media player.steveoelliott wrote: I meant the caddy not the disk itself.
The older caddies have round buttons, and are prone to jam. Newer ones have square buttons and don't have that particular problem.
If these caddies are surplus (for instance, from a failed NAS) make sure that you don't lose the mounting screws - replacements are hard to come by.
Like mdgm, I am wondering why you are asking. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredStephenB they should work in the new desktop models. It's just the new screwless drive trays will only work in the latest models.

Good to know. I thought I asked this before, and was told the old caddies wouldn't work. I didn't try it, as I didn't want to risk damage to the drive SATA connectorsmdgm wrote: StephenB they should work in the new desktop models. Anyway, I wouldn't re-use the round-button caddies unless I had no choice - several of mine consistently jam, and releasing them with a paperclip is annoying.
