HDD for Ultra plus 2
So I've done the research and know that we want the Readynas Ultra Plus 2. But as you know they come diskless. I've tried to research HDD's form the HCL but just end up getting confused. We're lo...
The only 3TB I can find is the Western Digital Caviar Green WD30EZRS.
Together with the NAS they'll take me just over my £500 budget, but reviews of Caviar Green drives in general are very mixed ranging from 'they're rubbish' to 'love em'. If I drop to 2TB I can knock over £100 off the price but I might regret that 12 months down the line.
What do you think?
The other thing I'm a bit nervous about is the firmware. How old is 4.2.16? If I have to upgrade the firmware is it difficult.
I should perhaps add we run a mix of ubuntu and windows in our house.
