Are the ReadyNAS trays swapable between the NAS models?
NV+ trays (with screws) v's RN316 trays (with black plastic screwless thingi) v's Trays on Amazon (not specifically mentioning type - other than ReadyNAS)?

The trays for our current models e.g. 316 will not work in legacy units.
The trays on Amazon are probably legacy drive trays, I think, though I would need to see some photos to be able to confirm.
Trays for desktop ReadyNAS won't work in rackmount ReadyNAS and vice versa.
Not sure about rackmount but I presume it is similar to the desktop ReadyNAS situation.
Note the EDA500 is only compatible with the trays it shipped with. These are different to the drive trays in the main chassis.
Why do you want more trays? If your trays are working fine there is little reason to get any more. - Michael_OzLuminaryThanks, I was thinking of having a spare already loaded on a tray (NV+).
Once my RN316 comes back form RMA, those trays are so easy, it doesn't need a spare. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredA spare tray in case a disk fails?
