RN214 replacement tray
Sorry for bringing up a small issue, but I'm trying to find out how I can go about ordering or replacing a disk tray for the RN214D42-100NES NAS system. Had my trays stacked on the table while replacing all the drives (should have done one drive at a time but hindsight is 20/20) and one fell down and the back corner area broke off and it doesn't sit in the NAS like it should. I went through the webpages trying to find a replacement, but couldn't find an official one here and not sure about ordering any carraige on if it would work.
There is a plastic insert that can be removed (then you'd attach the disk using screws through the bottom of the tray). But I'm not sure if it's the insert that's damaged, or something else.

It's not that small an issue - it can be really hard to find trays that will fit. For some reason, Netgear doesn't sell them, and the ones you find are very expensive. The mods ( JohnCM_S and Marc_V ) might be able to connect you with paid support. They might have something they can offer (or sell) you.
The part number for the current trays is RTRAY09-10000S. So you can google that, and see if you can find anyone that has them in stock. I saw a couple of sites about a month ago:

The trays from any legacy desktop ReadyNAS will also fit your unit. They do lack the tool-less mounting feature and provisions for a 2.5" drive. Some have a hard-to-use round push button that you use to eject the tray - a bit of a pain, but you can trigger the mechanism with a small screwdriver instead. It's not difficult, just annoying.
But trays from rackmount ReadyNAS are differently constructed, and they will not fit.
Understood and ty. I thought it was only me having issues trying to find a replacement tray due to the lack of questions regarding it. Will hold on to see if the moderators jump into the conversation, but will keep the link available in case they don't. Want to get my NAS up and operational again as soon as possible so I can use the cloud features again, but I should have just allowed the hours needed to rebuild each drive one at a time instead of pulling them all at once and upgrading to all larger drives. The broken corner of the plastic piece on the end, it shouldn't be so much of an issue if you look at it but it does mess with the alignment and the drives stability when inserted.
