How many disks needed to setup NAS

Hi,

Total novice here.

I have ordered a 526x and two NAS 8Tb disks thinking I can add further disks later. Will it run with just two disks, or do I need to buy the full set from the start?

Thanks

    Hi Ebuildit

    Welcome to the Community!

I edited the title of your post.

Yes you are right, you can add additional disks to NAS later on and you can start setting up the two 8TB NAS Drive you ordered. However, if you will be using XRAID configuration your RAID setup would be RAID 1 for the two disk you will be using, unless you opted to use Flex-RAID and setup both disks as separate volumes then you will be able to use both disks as storage. However if you plan to add disks later then X-RAID would be recommended to automatically expand your RAID.

Here are some articles that might be of help to you once you plan on adding disks.

    Hope this helps!
