How to downgrade BIOS 07/26/2010 FLAME6-MB V2.0 back to 10/03/2008 FLAME6-MB V1.6
My Pro Business Edition is not working properly any more after I rolled back a OS6 install to OS4. I suspect it could be caused by the BIOS upgrade to 07/26/2010 FLAME6-MB V2.0 I done before the ...

The motherboards of the -100, -200, and even the Ultra6Plus are all identical. The processor they shipped with is different. I'm pretty sure all of the -200 units shipped with the latest BIOS. Most -100's didn't, and that's what I had and updated.
I remember reading in the forum that there was a very early version of the motherboard that shipped in a very limited number of systems. But the BIOS update would recognize that and not do the update.

Since many Pro6 units shipped with that BIOS and others have updated to it (I updated 4 units), I very much doubt that's the problem. What are the specific problems that you are observing?

My backup options with rsync are not working.
Sounds logical that nobody will have the old BIOS file.
Those 4 Pro 6 that you upgraded were that all rndp6000-100 or the newer model rndp6000-200? If those were rndp6000-100 then probably the BIOS is not the problem. Allhough as I remember well in the forum other people were also unsuccessful in upgrading a rndp6000-100 to OS6.
I moved all my data from this nas and will do a reinstall of the firmware later this week.
Thanks for your remarks

Okay, to be on the sure side, if the BIOS update of one of these early versions of the -100 would recognize that it was an incorrect version would it then bock the update? or only notify that it was not for this BIOS and still give the option to push trough the update. (I do not remember the notification).
Reading there is no difference between the -100 and -200 motherboards I will give OS6 a second try.
Thanks for your answer.

I don't see how the bios would affect that.
Can you give more information on what errors you are seeing (and more details on how the rsync backup jobs are set up)?

OS6 is now running.....and...stable.
Backup with Rsync-server works also fine.
I thanks for the help.
