Is my Barracuda 3TB failing? (SMART errors)
I received an email from my ReadyNAS Ultra 4 today warning about SMART errors:
"Detected increasing uncorrectable errors[40] on disk 2 [ST3000DM001-9YN166, W1F0LMW9]. This often indicates an impending failure. Please be prepared to replace this disk to maintain data redundancy."
What do you think? Judging from the attached screenshot, does it look like this drive really is failing, or is it within limits for now?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced User40 "current pending sectors" means that 40 disk reads have failed. If you were to write to those sectors, they probably would have been re-allocated.
So it does appear to be failing. If you can put the drive into a PC, try running seatools.
