Migration from Duo to 102 + Drive Re-use

I've read about migration from one system to another (in my case, a Duo v1 to a new 102). I've also read about formatting and reusing existing drives to expand volumes. I want to double check the following procedure for combining these two approaches.

I had a redundant RAID volume on my v1 Duo with 1TB + 2TB Seagates. The 1TB drive died, and I chose to upgrade with a 3TB WD drive as well as from the Duo to a 102.

I need to migrate the data from my 2TB Seagate (currently formatted for the Duo) to a new RAID volume that consists of my 3TB WD + 2TB Seagate.

Here is my intended approach:

1. Install 3TB WD into the 102 and boot up.
2. Hook both my Duo and 102 to the same network and copy data from my 2TB/Duo to 3TB/102.
-- I HAVE COMPLETED STEPS 1 AND 2 --
3. Gracefully power down the 102 and remove the 3TB WD.
4. Install the 2TB into the 102, press the "reset" button on the back of the 102, and power up.
5. Let the 102 format the 2TB disk.
6. Gracefully power down the 102 and remove the 2TB.
7. Power up the 102 and install the 3TB disk "hot".
8. Wait for 102 to recognize the 3TB disk.
9. Install the 2TB disk hot.

If I perform these steps, will I lose my data? Will there be issues with adding a 2TB disk to an existing 3TB array, or will the array automatically downsize to 2TB?

Thanks!

You cannot add a smaller disk to an existing array. You should get a second 3TB disk.
