Move disks from NV+ to Duo?
My friend has an NV+ which won't start after a lightning storm last month. Can I move the two 500 GB disks from the NV+ into my Duo so we can access the data? Both ReadyNAS' are Sparc-based and run 4.18 or 4.17. Thanks for the help.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes. Provided the disks are fine and there were only two disks in the NV+ that should work. See http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_migrate_disks_over_from_an_existing_readynas_to_another
- KillerBobAspirantHi mdgm,
Reading the link, it says you can only swap HDs within the same architecture. Just for reference, my Pro Pioneer has a Intel Multi-core CPU, and my Ultra 2 has an Intel Atom Single-core CPU. Is this still considered same architecture?
Bo - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThere are currently three architectures:
Sparc e.g Duo/NV+ (v1)
x86 e.g. Ultra/Pro
arm e.g. Duo/NV+ (v2)
You can migrate disks between devices on the same architecture only. So migration from a Pro Pioneer to an Ultra 2 would be possible provided you only have two disks installed in the Pro Pioneer.
