Moved ReadyNAS NV+ & Won't Power Up

I moved my ReadyNAS NV+ A201-75xx for a 3 hour drive to my new location. When setting up, I pressed the power button and nothing at all. No leds, no fan, no nothing.

- Yes, it's plugged in :)
- The power button is not sticking and is feeling as normal
- I did not have any auto shutdown setup or whatever that is I read about here

I pulled the power supply from the case, plugged it in and checked the wires from the PSU. I only got voltage on pins 8 & 14 which were both around 1 volt. That seems suspicious to me, however, I'm no expert. Anyone have any ideas?

  • It was the power supply. Purchased a $26 Micro ATX PSU from Frys, removed wires 12 & 18 and she fired right up. Thank goodness!!!!

This is a long-dead thread.  Please stick with the one you already are posting on.  I'm going to lock this one (you can link to it.  You might also want to ask there on whether you have a bad PSU or not.

  • No it doesn't fit. However, it's installed and the case is entirely put together so it worked out perfect for me. I mean it just sits there %99.9 of the time, but, still easy to move if needed. I've considered fabricating a little support bracket to hold the psu in place.

  • Several years ago 3-4. Yes, new from newegg I think. Doesn't look like it is.

Warranty was 5 years on new purchases from August 21, 2007 to sometime in 2009 (I think). Is the unit registered at my.netgear.com? Check the expiry date there and if it's still under warranty you should be able to at least ask for a replacement PSU under warranty (though they may wish to replace the entire unit).
