My readyNAS RN212 not detecting latest firmware

When I'm logged into Admin on my RN212 which is currently running firmware 6.9.5 and click on "Check for Updates" the popup always says "Your system is currently running the latest

firmware.  Your system does not nneed a firmware update".

I know that firmware 6.10.0 has been released for the RN212.;  Why doesn't my RN212 detect that?

  • Hey.

    It's normal. Same thing here.
NETGRAR always release manual install first and then later release it to their update servers. It's so that they can assess how it goes first before releasing to all users.
I always wait till it's available on the update servers.

Thanks, that's good to know.  I'll wait till the update check detects it

Good move.  It seems  Netgear have just released a hotfix for 6.10.0 already

Yup, that is why I always wait till they release on the update servers :)

Hi heywheelie , another reason could have been, that you had chosen to stick with "Long-term support". There are three upgrade modes: (1) Long-term (2) Stable and (3) Beta, which you can choose on the admin/systems/settings page. Long-term support currently would not upgrade to 6.10.

    Kind regards

True, but "stable" isn't prompting for an upgrade to 6.10 yet either.

FWIW, I generally start by installing the new releases on my backup NAS first. I upgraded that to 6.10 a couple of days ago, and haven't seen any issues.
