New ReadyNAS compatible with older/smaller drives?
I currently own two NV+ and having upgraded the size of the hard drives over the years. I was looking into purchasing a ReadyNAS 104 to make use of the older drives (750 GB) that no longer reside in the NV+. The problem is, when I look up the RN 104 on the hard drive compatibility list it only lists drives that are 1 TB or above. Do you think these older 750 GB drives (that were compatible with the NV+) are still compatible with the RN 104?

- RXLuminaryI believe you cannot use your old 750 GB drives from your old ReadyNAS NV+ to the RN104 which is a ReadyNAS OS 6 model. It would be best that you follow the compatibility list of hard drives for the respective ReadyNAS model.
- NobuddyAspirantI just figured they didn't bother listing drives smaller than 1 TB on the lists for the new NAS because the smaller drives are less common, outmoded, and less desirable for current users. I wouldn't think the new OS would be a limiting factor, but I'm new to this new OS.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThere is at least one SSD on the HCL that is smaller than 1 TB, so it is clearly not an OS restriction.
If you use a drive that is not on the HCL, then Netgear will deny support.
