New to this but having issues

Question

Afternoon all.I’ve got a readynas 2120 handed down to me and am having trouble setting it up.I’ve done the full reset hold button 30 seconds etc and have successfully found it on raidair.When using the online setup though, it can’t find it - my PC is on wifi and the nas drive is hard wired to the router.Not only this, even though I’ve done the reset, the default admin and password password combination doesn’t work, so I can’t log in, can’t do the firmware updates and so on.Is there a way around this, I’m struggling and the hard drive on my Pc is becoming very full!Thanks in advance

OK, so when you select "Admin Page" in RAIDar, what do you see?&nbsp; You will likely see a warning about the certificate, which you need to ignore.&nbsp; How you do that depends on the browser you are using.&nbsp; Alternately, just go to https://ip.of.nas/admin where you use the real IP address shown in RAIDar.&nbsp; The&nbsp;user name and password are case sensitive:&nbsp; "admin" and "password".&nbsp;&nbsp;You are sure this is a 2120, not a 2100, right? The 2100 runs OS 4.2.x and the default password is "netgear1".

You have at least one disk in the NAS?

If so, are the disk(s) formatted?
&nbsp;
You can zero the disks or delete all the partitions, and then power up the NAS with the disks inserted. &nbsp;It should do a full factory install.

One drive installed.&nbsp;Powered down and held the reset button, powered back on and waited 30 seconds for the second flash and it did its install etc.&nbsp;Am i doing this correctly?&nbsp;Thanks so far&nbsp;&nbsp;

ANd i've used the drive before with a caddy though it was used on my Xbox before.&nbsp;Raidair will open the folder and lets me view it though, it seems empty.

If you did the factory install, there will be a few empty shares. &nbsp;Is that what you see?
