Nice fan upgrade :-)

Well... a fan in one of my ReadyNAS'es got noisy again and I didn't feel like RMA'ing the device for a third time, so I figured I'd just replace both fans myself with quality Noctua alternatives. Was quite the job, but the result is schweeeeet :D
Upgraded to 4GB RAM while I was at it.

I have not ran the unit with disks inserted yet, am going to test & record temperatures & noise the coming days before I start using it in production again.

  • Nice job on the fan replacement.

Is that a moped motor in the first pic? :)
  • Thanks :)

Yes, it's a 4-stroke single cylinder engine for Honda Dax/Monkey. You should see the rest of my garage... ;)
