There is a way to read the disks, but that works best with a two drive mirroring RAID array where all the data is on one disk. When I first upgraded to a new ReadyNAS (NVX), I used my old NV+ as a backup unit. You may want to consider replacing the PSU and then work on acquiring a newer ReadyNAS and drives. It is very nice having a backup run every night of the entire volume.
