Power Surge - No connectivity
We have a ReadyNAS 2100 that was working just fine and then the location where it is located had a power surge and it temporarily lost power. Power has been restored to the location and the ReadyNAS boots up and shows connectivity on the NICs, however it will not ping with the assigned IP address. How to I connect to the device so that I can troubleshoot the issue? Would a crossover cable placed in one of the NICs and a laptop give me the capability to manage this device? Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDoes the NAS show up in RAIDar? If so, what do you see in the Info (far right) column?
You can use a crossover cable for a direct-connect but an ordinary ethernet cable would work fine. - dcmitchellsrAspirantI do not know if it shows in RAIDar as I do not have it loaded on my computer and the device that I usually use to troubleshoot the ReadyNAS devices was unavailable this evening. I am going to troubleshoot this more tomorrow, however I wanted to see if I could get some insight as I have not had any issues such as this with any of the other ReadyNAS devices that we have.

Did you set a static I.P. for the NAS? If so, was that set in the web admin interface of the NAS or e.g. on your server?
