PSU for NV still available?
Hi folks. I have an old school Readynas NV that was still working fine until this morning when the PSU failed. Are replacement PSU's still available? It looks like the PSU may be the same one used in newer NV+'s? I found a few online stores that still list them but they all say out of stock. For example:

http://www.superwarehouse.com/Netgear_A ... /p/1538292
Any help is appreciated.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe PSU for the NV+ (v1) works in the NV.
Has the PSU failed in your NV before?
Is the serial of your NV in this range?: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10259 - victorypointAspirantThanks for the response. My serial is out of range. It's the original PSU that fialed. I don't mind paying for a new one - I just need to find one.
-AJ - CharlesLaCourAspirantThe PSU on my NV failed about 3 years ago and I got a replacement on Amazon but it looks like they are out of stock. But here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W3 ... 01_details
- victorypointAspirantThanks for the link. So are these sites showing "out of stock" because they're not made anymore and they may be a finite amount of stock units in some warehouse somewhere, or they are still made but not worth stocking?
-AJ - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you sure it's the PSU that's failed?
If and only if you don't smell a burning smell or see burnt capacitors on the PSU, a failed PSU might not be the problem. Do you use the power timer? If so take a look at this: http://www.readynas.com/forum/faq.php#I%27ve_enabled_the_schedule_Power-Off%2FPower-On_option_on_my_NV%2C_but_now_I_cannot_power-on_my_ReadyNAS._What_should_I_do%3F - victorypointAspirantI'm sure. A burnt smell was coming from it this morning.
-AJ - maxblackAspirantI suggest PMing member CheezHead here who has whole chassis for not much more than Amazon's PSU price--maybe he has separate PSUs also, I dunno.
I bought a spare chassis from him and was very pleased with the transaction. - siignaNETGEAR Employee Retiredvictorypoint: PM me your serial number and a case number if you have one already. If you haven't registered I'll need name/address/phone number as well to get you registered up. I'll see what I can do about getting you a replacement PSU.
- victorypointAspirantThank you Siigna! I have sent you a PM.
- victorypointAspirantI just want to update everyone on my efforts to get a replacement PSU for my old Infrant Readynas NV. I ended up buying an alternative PSU (Enhance) as suggested in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=13492. It needed some modifications to the power connector but fit inside my Nas case and has been working fine for 2 weeks now. Then, just within the last week I received an email from Netgear saying they are sending me an RMA replacement PSU free of charge (see Siigna's earlier post offering to help out). I received the replacmeent PSU yesterday, installed it, and it works fine. I'll keep the Enhance PSU as a backup just in case.
I just want to achknowledge and thank Netgear for their awesome support and service. My unit was well beyond out of warranty and I had no hope of getting a replacement from Netgear even to purchase it. Also many thanks to everyone else for providing suggestions and help in this thread. I love my Readynas NV and it's great to keep it running for several more years!
