RN31400 Power Adapter #25564575
Hello,
I'm after a replacement power adapter for a NetGear RN31400, the same as what is in the link below.

Any advice is appreciated.

A complete package always comes with a PSU, if you buy a second hand/pre-owned unit, PSU should also be included, if the any part has problems that needs replacement there is really no warranty from the manufacturer.
Warranty aside, Netgear should provide enough information that people can buy replacement third-party power bricks (at their own risk) and those pesky easy-to-lose tray screws. Or provide a way for people to buy replacements from Netgear.
The NAS service life is longer than the warranty, and the power brick is a component that is likely to fail first. If this were a laptop, no manufacturer could get away with this line of argument. A power brick isn't the same as an internal PSU. All customers expect to be able to buy a compatible replacement.

Thanks StephanB, I'm glad I'm not the only person that thinks it should be a fairly accessible replacement part.
Currently I'm stuck with a useless box that I can't even power on, but at least it looks good with it's shiny Netgear logo! :smileyfrustrated:

I found this in my research but wasn't sure if it was a direct fit, does the plug look identical to the original?

You can tell that as well as I can, since you have the original adapter. My NAS are powered at the moment, so its not convenient to check.
If not, you could possibly migrate your existing cable. (Splicing it to the replacement, perhaps using some heat-shrink tubing).
If you are based in Australia, you might try JennC's link first (shipping would be less).

What did you end up doing? I have the same issue here, got a second hand NAS, missing cable. Thought that would be easy to replace. Contacted Netgear and after a lenghty back and forth got them to send me a replacement.... only it's a completely different cable that doesn't fit the port. Huh? Not sure I want to go through that all again- so I'm considering laptop-battery.co if that will do the trick.
