Readynas 104 OS 6.4.1 not responding proper
Hi!
I have two 104's one with 4*4TB and the other with 4*2TB and both seem to have issues now after I updated to 6.4.1.... both in Raid 10
I cannot copy anything from or to them as the speed is down to almost noting e.g. 0-900 kb/s which in my gb-net is not fine....
I reinstalled OS on one but to no avail.... have looked here but found no definite solution as such, at least according to me.
I noted that after the update there was a lot of snapshots taken, however I only scheduled that to once a month.
All the disks seems fine but there is a lot of reading of them going on.
Factory reset is not an option for me, unfortunately.
I do wonder if I have to buy something safer than Netgear, as an update shouldn't have this impact at all?
Sorry, but this is the way I do feel just now.
All the best
Eie

Happy New Year!
Which services/apps are you running?
Which firmware did you update from?
Can you send me your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

Hello!
Thank you, rather new to this.
A happy new year to you also.
I'm not running any apps at all, only the services SMB, NFS, Ready DLNA, HTTP, HTTPS and AntiVirus.
Upgraded from 6.4.0
I do have the Bit-rot protection turned on.
Logs? Unfortunately I had them removed earlier yesterday, saw nothing as warnings or errors just information, thus that action taken.
The thing that I noted about the snapshot function, which I had to disable as it seemed to be taking one each hour os so, had 58 of them taking 1.25 TB
and the first one was from late 2013 sep-oct. Once a month should have been about 24, so after update about 30 something taken.
Erased all except the last one.
All the best

Well you could send them in anyway.
There is a known issue on 6.4.1 where performance may be poor with the anti-virus service enabled.
Whilst we don't have a fix for that particular issue yet, we do have some beta firmware: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-Beta-Release/ReadyNASOS-6-4-2-T59-Beta-1/td-p/999457/jump-to/first-unread-message
