ReadyNAS 1100 Drive Update Questions

I have had my ReadyNas 1100 for about 6 mo. I bought it with 4ea 1TB drives. Updated it to the latest firmware 4.1.8 and now have run out of room. After refering to the compatability list I have purchased 4 WD WD20EARS 2TB drives and have installed 3 (they were formated NTFS before installation) and turned on the ReadyNAS. (the reason only three is I had to order the fourth seperately as Amazon would only sell three at a time). I get the Blue LED blinking steadily, The LAN LED blinking steady, a little faster, The Activity LED blinking Steady Even faster and randomly. None of the Drive LEDs are lit. Aren't the drive LEDs supposed to blink? Also, if I run RAIDar, it shows the NAS but in the last column (the Info column) it saya "Booting" and doesn't change. There are not any jumpers on the back of the drives ( I thought I saw something about jumpers).

Any help would be appreciated.

Kent

  • MDGM,

Thanks, I went through a system reset after I installed the fourth drive. It rebuilt the 4 drive RAID-X and reindexed. All is good.

    Thank You,

    Kent
