ReadyNas 312 VPN Access
Hi there, I have inherited the administration of a ReadyNas 312 unit. Currently there are 2 senior users who are able to access the unit remotely via VPN - they are in their own user group. ...

ReadyCloud is enabled on the cloud page of the NAS, and managed from http://readycloud.netgear.com
Though of course you can use a VPN hosted by your router - which is what I do myself.
It is also possible to deploy ZeroTier (which is done with an app on the NAS). That would be managed at https://my.zerotier.com
