ReadyNAS appears dead (support case #16745150)
Our ReadyNas nv+ (I think that is right. I'm doing this from memory; I'm supposed to be on vacation.) has ceased operations. The initial symptom was failure to allow NFS mounts. It then refused to shutdown, so the power plug was pulled. It restarts with "Booting..." in the display and the power button flashing. Then the flashing stops and nothing further happens; I have waited for hours hoping for a change. This is quite repeatable.
I updated to raidiator v4.1.8. That rebooted and installed without a problem.
Is there any sort diagnostics functions that can be invoked bypassing the normal boot procedure?

- I recommend that you contact support. Once you get a case #, please edit the subject of your post and add the case # at the end. Thanks.
- chirpaLuminaryI don't see a case number yet, but I do see you have the system in technical support mode?

Case #16745150.
How do you see that? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen you put the NAS in tech support mode on 4.1.7 or later a secure connection is made to NetGear meaning that ports shouldn't need to be forwarded on your router (not having to port forward is much more secure as it virtually eliminates the possibility of someone trying to hack their way into your NAS when it's in tech support mode).
Please add your case number to the thread title (edit subject of first post in thread). - chirpaLuminaryI manage the Tech Support mode system. I have it setup to link connections with forum users, so I came across your post that way.
- Your case is currently being handled right now. Just wait for the technician's feedback. Thanks.
