- evobladeAspirantI was looking at the HCL for the NV+. It shows the Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARX 2 TB drive as compatible. Would the replacement drive WD20EZRX be compatible also? I am trying to get some more space on my drive as well as get drives which are actually compatible (my original WD greens are not technically and do not support drive spin-down).
- tijgertGuideI can pretty much guarantee it.
- crondAspirantThanks!
so hopefully 4TB ones will work as well :)tijgert wrote: Hi, yeah it works.
I can confirm the 6TB WD Red's work in both the Ultra 6 AND the RN516 as advertised.
It even works in the Ultra 6 under OS6, but I reverted to OS4 again since it's used as a backup and I don't like surprises with backups. - tijgertGuideHi, yeah it works.

Do you still plan to post your reply on this topic ?
From your signature I see you already using 6th WD RED on ultra 6 NAS, correct ? I'm asking because I'm considering to buy 4x for ultra4 NAStijgert wrote: Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
I was asking the same question in two topics because both topics were relevant to my question and vice versa.
To be future similar question asking users of service I will gladly point them to that other topic -> http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=70222&p=432196#p432196
I no longer have tech support so I'll have to chance it. I just wanted a reason not to try it and so far there are none.
Also, another topic mentioned that any size drive should work on any x86 box as GPT drives are not size limited. They are on ARM boxes though.
So drives are on order (plus I can return the unused ones anyway).
I will post my results in THIS topic as compatability of these drives are directly applicable to this topic. - tijgertGuideThanks for the reply, appreciate it.

- tijgertGuideI populated my RN516 with 6TB WD Red drives. Delicious...
But will my legacy RDNU6000 also work with these 6TB WD Red drives?
I mean to populate my dusty RNDU6000 with 6x6TB's in Raid 5 as a backup to my RN516, but since the drives didn't exist when the RNDU6000 went EOL there isn't an up to date compatability list... - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt is important to point out that Netgear generally denies support if your disks aren't on the HCL. Though I don't think you'll go wrong with the EFRX.
- giduAspirantOk, thank you, I ordered three WD20EFRX on Amazon.fr (two for RND2000 and one for the external backup).
Again thank you for advice ...
