//Svein - KenARAspirantFor those considering 2TB HDs, I've been using 2 WD Green Caviar units (WD20EARS) for almost 3 months now in a Duo with no hiccups :) Both disks showing 1859GB allocated.

Any word on the Constellation ES drives in an NV+? (The old Barracuda ES and ES.2 were certified, but they're discontinued.) Thanks! - schalliolAspirant

+1 :D - tokyombAspirantBump... Also interested in any word on the Constellation ES drives in an NV+.
Have yet another Barracuda ES.2 drive failing on me with SMART errors, and given the Constellation drives are cheaper here in Japan than the (now discontinued) ES.2 drives it would make sense to move to the more modern drive if it will work. - schalliolAspirantI know I'm a bother here and am sorry. I'm running out of space and am ready to buy drives as well. Since it sounded like you guys were going to test this on the NV+/platform, if you could find some time to do so soon, that would be a super big help. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
- schalliolAspirantWell, since it's been almost 9 months since I asked about testing these drives :( , I decided to order a couple of these 2TB drives. I do understand the Jedi have other things to do, though I was under the impression this would be reviewed. I will backup (again), factory default and install. I don't know exactly when I'll get to this, but I'll let you know what I find.
Edit: Bought a Ultra 4 Plus after NV+ failure, so I won't be testing here after all. Sorry :( - Slaine1AspirantJust successfully added a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk USB 3.0 2TB unit to my X6 (Rev. A) unit this week. No major problems encountered so far. I've added a more detailed post in the community hardware compatibility section.

At this point I'm hesitant to buy another ReadyNAS, since they don't seem to be testing or certifying any current enterprise-grade drives on a product less than 4 years old. (And "NETGEAR Technical Support can and will deny support" if you use uncertified drives, according to their HCL page.) Reliability is actually important to me (hence, you know, RAID?).
I know they've released software updates, and I understand that the hardware is inherently limited and EOL, but this silence is not going to encourage me to buy a newer model.
Conversely, if I had some indication that their support was truly ongoing, I'd be much more interested in picking up a newer model, probably in addition to my existing NAS. - PapaBear1ApprenticeI guess you don't consider the Hitachi A7K2000 an enterprise class despite it being classed, priced and warranted as such.
