ReadyNAS Duo. disk 2 dead

Have ReadyNAS Duo. Orig 2# Seagate Barracuda 7200(rpm) ST31000528AS, 1TB, SATA3Gb/s cache 32MB. Disk 2 of 2 shows DEAD on Yahoo widget.
can I purchase, Western Digital 1TB, WD1002FBYS RE3 SATA 3Gb/s, cache 32MB, (from Hardware Compatibility List HDD, Legacy / ReadyNAS Duo), as a straight swap?
? How do I do install it? and are there any jumpers to deal with on either disk? The widget shows right hand disk black, does that translate as bad right hand disk from front of NAS?

Yes. Any disks from the compatibility list of equal or greater capacity should be fine.

Remove the dead disk, unscrew it from the tray, screw the replacement into the tray and add it while the NAS is on. If the tray is stuck please see http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=30550#p30550

Yes. You should see that the LEDs show that the disk is dead as well.
