Readynas Duo RND2000 Won't Boot
Hello all....
I am having the exact same issue as this post. http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=74110
There was never an answer as to if the problem was fixed so I'm hoping for some help.
I also created the Linux VM and can see all the folders but can't do anything with them. My other issue is the
network link light isn't going on. This unit was working fine the other day with no e-mails or warnings of
any issues.
If it is a hardware issue, I was wondering if I went out and bought a used Readynas Duo RND2000 and just
inserted the disks into the new unit, would this work? The RND2000 is actually hard to find so I'm hoping this
still would work with a later Duo model.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great....thanks.

- Let's start from the beginning.
What duo model do you have (v1 or v2)? (check this: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/) The labels are misleading!
Also, do you know what firmware you have installed?
Finally, do you have a windows PC? - meisccAspirantHi StephenB,
It is a v1. Unfortunately, I am not sure what firmware is installed on the unit. I do have a Windows PC.
I actually installed a LInux VM on the pc. I was able to see the hard drives and certain folders on the
hard drive but really don't know how to use VM. I was able to copy the folders onto th PC but when
I opened the folders on the PC, they were empty. - You can also install linux reader (which is a PC app). You can find it here: http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/
It (like the linux vm) can read disk 1, but not disk 2.
