ReadyNAS Duo V1 access from Mac with OS Big Sur

Hi there,

I can't access my NAS:

I've pulled out my old ReadyNAS Duo V1 to double check all important data has been removed and saved on newer storage.

I am using a Macbook Pro with latest Big Sur OS. When trying to open Raidar, it tells me that the file is incompatible with this OS (guessing the change to 64bit?).

I've tried access through a browser, but no matter the ip address I try, I can't find it.

I can see it in Finder/Network, but it won't connect there, either. It shows three versions: nas-AA-61-28, nas-AA-61-28 (AFP) and nas-AA-61-28 (CIFS).

It's connected via ethernet into usb-c. I couldn't see it in network if I used usb-a to usb-c.

Is this a case of find an older computer, or am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks

Chris

Not sure what you mean by this, as the Duo normally is connected via ethernet directly to your router.

One aspect here is that Duo only supports SMB 1, which I believe was deprecated by Apple in Catalina.  So you will need to use AFP.

Can you access frontview via http://nas-ip-address/admin (using the real IP address of course)?
