ReadyNAS Duo v2 - Replacement HD

Hi

Ive had my Disk 1 show a error of 'Dead' in System --> Info window so I have replace with a

Seagate ST31000524AS drive. Problem I have is Im not sure its synchronizing as I still see the same message

in the  System --> Info window and on the front of the device the blue light is flashing on disk 1.

Ive attached a snap shot of the message.

Is there anywhere in the web portal that shows me its working?

Thanks

Plucky

  • There should be some messages in the log when the NAS detected the disk insertion and then started to resync.

If you aren't seeing those, try removing the new disk and then restart the NAS.  Then reinsert the new disk, and see if that works.

Sometimes when a drive fails the NAS disk drivers will declare the SATA port as down.  In those cases the disk replacement isn't detected.

      Hi StephenB

      Thanks for replying

It looks like its rebuilt disk 1 but now is telling me disk 2 could be faulty but the status for disk 2 is OK.

Disk 1 is showing a yelow circle with a red cross through it and status is inactive.
