ReadyNAS Duo v2 & NV+ v2 File Protocol
Hi,
I have read some post about Duo v2 and NV+2.
It seems not support NFS, Rsync and even FTP..
Is this true? I have already checked the comparison chart and above protocol unckecked.
In addition, backup manager is CIFS only.
Is there any plan to add the more file protocol in future?
Thanks.

Hi, yoh-dah.
I got the Duo v2. During the initial setting up the NAS, I have realized that it does not support KOREAN.
KOREAN does not listed in the language selection menu.
RAIDiator is 5.3.1
How can I get the KOREAN in the frontview? - yoh-dahGuide

It's coming with 5.3.2, very shortly. - ebainesAspirant

Any update on this, specifically about support for https and FTP? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredRAIDiator 5.3.2 was just released last week so seeing it's already mid-December I wouldn't expect another update till next year.
As we get closer to the release of a firmware update adding more protocols (maybe 5.3.3?) and NetGear's able to finalise what they will/won't include in it one would hope more information will be forthcoming. - ColonelPanikAspirantAny idea if improved USB 3.0 support is in the works yet?

NTFS performance in 5.3.2 over USB improved quite a bit, as much as 5X. Check it out. - ColonelPanikAspirant

I started out with 5.3.2 and the kernel is not patched for the NEC controller issues that have been solved by the kernel team in Spring 2011. My thread here details the issues viewtopic.php?f=21&t=59515
Performance is great when you can get it to work. At this point I only use the DUO V2 for backups. Really disappointed with the poor support and buggy kernel on this. Still thinking about returning it. I bought this for its USB 3.0 support and for that purpose it's mostly a failure. I ended up modding another NAS I own and adding a USB 3.0 controller to it. - iesusAspirant

I have a few questions about my new NV+ V2 unit.
How are you doing woth those updates, i need FTP or NFS or SSH access (due to my permission problems below).
I have many permission problems so i need to change permissions and need access.
I cannot create or delete files when i have mounted the device under a linux server, i intended to use the NAS as
a backup device as well as a storage unit, root can create and delete files, but i cannot share the files and create
or delete files using account "nobody" (samba guest access)
Also i cant install any addons bc. i get the message "invalid update image"
Also have problem with disk space i added 4pcs of 3tb disks and have only 5,4tb total space(!)
after my calcualtions i should have about 8tb my best guess is that it has chosen to have raid 5+1spare but
i have not told it to =/.
