I'd try an OS reinstall first. The procedure is on page 24 here: http://www.readynas.com/download/docume ... 6Dec11.pdf
Be careful not to do the factory reset, as that will delete your data.
An OS reinstall should preserve all data. The network config is changed to use dhcp, and the admin password will be reset (in your case to netgear1). Other settings should be preserved.
