ReadyNAS NV+ V1 question (probably asked before)
Hello all,
I am sure that this question (or a variation on it) has been asked and answered before, I just can't seem to locate an answer.
I am fully aware that the NV+ V1 does not support 3TB drives.
My question is...are there any plans to release a firmware that will support 3TB drives?
I am currently running 2 x NV+ units and they each contain 4 x 1.5TB drives. The cost vs additional space does not allow me to upgrade to 4 x 2TB :(
Thanks to any knowledgeable person out there who might be able to send a little info my way.
Have a great day
Scott

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSupport for 3TB drives is highly unlikely as the product is EOL.
- Scott_NV_AspirantSince they released a revised Firmware 3 months ago, I was kinda hoping they may be working on a new one that would allow me to upgrade. I am pretty sure they would make a LOT of people happy if they did that.

It would be great, but realistically it won't happen. If it was feasible they would have done it by now.Scott_NV+ wrote: Since they released a revised Firmware 3 months ago, I was kinda hoping they may be working on a new one that would allow me to upgrade. :) - PapaBear1ApprenticeScott_NV+ - the problem is a lot more serious than the firmware. It is the basic structure of the underlying Linux kernel that is the problem and development on that was ceased by the Linux community before the 3TB drives came out.
