I did post about this issue now in the feedback forum too. No reply yet. Seems that netgear hasn't this issue under control. What worries me is that it may have an impact on the lifetime of our systems.
OT: The first readynas i owned was a NV, the second a DUO and i had never had anykind of reliability issues with theses systems although i tried every beta firmware i could get. The ReadyNAS Pro is in my opinion the most unreliable system i ever owned:
a) Different kind of network issues (MAC hang, eth0: out of ressources)
b) loosing all shares because of wrong configuration files which results in mouting issues (had been repaired by support)
c) temp issues as described here
Luck for me: I'm using the ReadyNAS Pro just for my private needs, but what if all that had happened in a business environment? For sure i would have sold this system as fast as possible and bought a replacement from the competition. Sorry: But in regards of reliability the ReadyNAS Pro is a catastrophy and without receiving any word from netgear regarding the temp issue it's getting even worse from day to day!
