ReadyNAS Pro: System temp running out of spec
In the last weeks I did have several times where the CPU temp ran out of spec. What's annoying to me is that the cpu fan runs at maximum 1506 rpm?! Shouldn't it rotate much higher to avoid temp runnin...

Took the CPU cooler off and found that the plastic cover was still on the cpu cooler. No wonder it was overheating. Made contact with the cooler and what do you know, I now have a perfectly good Pro.
Don't know if you want to suggest people pull their cpu coolers off and check, but apparently someone was careless at the factory that day.
Wow. For those of us who have built our own systems, that is an easy fix. I don't know that I would have thought of that. You probably found it because you were starting to disassemble the unit. I would assume that the unit would use some thermal paste such as Artic Siver 5.
