You will find a variety of opinions here on drives. A few years back I started seeing very high failure rates on various Seagate drives (the internal ones were mostly ST31500341AS, but I had several USB drives fail also).
After that I switched to Western Digital. So far I've had a very good experience with the WDC Reds (I have 7 installed, 5 in the Pro-6, and 2 in the RN102). They have reasonable performance, run very cool - indicating that they are quite green. Though they haven't been out long enough to know how they will work out longer term.
Be sure to search the forum for whatever model you choose, as some drives don't seem to play that well with the ReadyNas (including some that are on the HCL).
