ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus doesn't reboot with USB connected
Hello. I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus with Firmware RAIDiator 4.2.23. I have a WD "My Passport" 1.5TB USB drive connected to my ReadyNas. When I reboot my ReadyNAS with the USB drive connected, the ReadyNAS fans run at full speed but the NAS never comes up. I have to unplug the USB drive, reboot the NAS, wait for it to come online and then connect the USB drive.
Can someone please help me to fix this issue? It's quite annoying to have to manually unplug the USB drive every time I want to reboot the ReadyNAS (forget about remote reboots!).
Thanks.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredPlease download your logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs), extract the zip contents and post the contents of bios_ver.log
- djbaudaAspirantThe contents of bios_ver.log are:
09/20/2010 ReadyNAS-NVX-V2 V1.9 - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThat BIOS is out of date. Please install the update add-on. See http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=387035#p387035
- djbaudaAspirantUnfortunately I still cannot boot my NAS with the USB drive attached. I followed the link provided and installed that particular bios. Now my bios_ver.log has the following:
08/23/2011 ReadyNAS-NVX-V2 V1.10
Any other ideas?
Thanks. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe BIOS update was successful then. That is the latest BIOS.
Can you power down the ReadyNAS, disconnect the power to the NAS, press the power button for say 30 seconds, continue to leave the power disconnected for a while, then reconnect power to the NAS, power on again and see if it will reboot with a USB drive attached? - djbaudaAspirantStill no luck. I powered down the unit; unplugged the power (and the ethernet cable); held the power button for 30 seconds; let the unit sit for 5 minutes with nothing connected; and then plugged the power and ethernet cable back in. The LCD screen is the same as before - no "Booting" message and the fans are at full speed. Any ideas?
