ReadyNAS Ultra power shedule after maual shutdown
Scenario:
- scheduled power on (morning) and off (noght) every day
- accessing remotely
- no furter need for access the same day (at, say, noon)
- selecting manual shutdown, ensuring that *the timer schedule is set active*
- no warning message concerning the timer schedule being inactivated by the operation
With that, I'd expect the device would power up next morning.
It *does not*.
The user manual states no limitation, but the FAQ tells that the device will be permanently turned off intil manually turned on with the power button.
There is a check-box for the timer on the power control page - once marked active the schedule should work as expected (preferred proposal).
At a minimum, a warning message should be presented when selecting manual power-off (sceond choice).
SW: RAIDiator-x86 Version: 4.2.21

- PapaBear1ApprenticeThis has been a problem for a while. I believe the problem is basically the power off routine sets the power on schedule, and the power on routine sets the power off schedule. So, when the device is turned off manually there is no power on schedule set.
- gotburgerAspirantWhat is a bit puzzling is that
- manually shutting down using the pushbutton on the dveice causes the power on schedule to work properly
- maually shutting down using the GUI causes the pwerr schedule to cease working
Hmmm - SW-controlled shutdown casuses the power schedule to be "deactivated".
"Physical" shutdown does not change the schedule settings.
Also note that returning to the GUI, the GUI still indicates the power schedule as "activated".
It would be more understandable if it had bneen the other way around, so that a push-button shutdown would require a push-button start for the device to start again...
Knowing the behaviour, it can be circumvented, but the probability that the issue is encountered is high for users that has the need to do a manual shutdown remotely.
Nice if Netgear could at least fix the GUI so that the user is aware that the schedule is decativated as described above.
Better up if the schedule settings remain active as configured.
