Red drives do not have load cycle issues with the NAS. There was a brief period of time when they did, but WDC fixed that. They also provide a supported tool for Red drives if you want to change the settings.
I am running 10 WDC Reds in various NAS and do not have load cycle issues with any of them. I have mixed Reds and Greens with no problems in my Pro-6 in the past, though over time I retired the greens. I've never needed to adjust settings on the Reds.
There were some reports here on that some Seagate NV models are a couple of sectors smaller than standard - I am not sure which models though. However, I know that 3 TB reds play nicely with 3 TB greens.
