Reset ReadyNAS1500
I have an old ReadyNAS 1500 device. It has 4 * 2TB drives of which 1 is faulty. I need to factory reset it, to access over the network. I'm new to this and would like to learn if I can extract any ut...

Note that some 4.2.x systems can be converted to run OS-6 firmware, but the 1500 isn't one of those models. The current firmware is 4.2.31. You will need to enable SMB 1 on the client PCs to access the shares.
Capacity can be expanded to 16 TiB, so it still does have some utility for archival of storage, and perhaps PC backup.
RAID is useful, but not enough to keep data safe - so you should consider having a backup plan for the NAS. You can use USB drive(s) for this (and the NAS does include a backup feature you can use to schedule the backups).
Why I think it needs a factory reset:
- The device was used previously and registered under an old employee's email ID. I don't know the admin credentials.
- The two NICs don't get an IP address when connected to my network. I'm not able to find their MAC address(from device labels) in the network. So I'm guessing they're set to a static IP and a different subnet mask which I'm unaware of.
You will need to enable SMB 1 on the client PCs to access the shares.
Ouch... SMB1 is not an option anymore. Even SMB2 would have been acceptable for an internal network but SMB1 is totally blocked.
Is this a dead-end then?

SMB2 is possible, though implementation on the NAS is early ("experimental").

Registration doesn't matter, since there is no warranty and Netgear service contracts/paid support are no longer available.
An OS reinstall will solve the other problems.
- admin password will reset to netgear1
- network config will reset to dhcp with no bonding
Also, RAIDar should find the NAS IP:
