RN212 not connecting to Internet for anti-virus update
I just moved the location of my RN212 to a new house / new network. Setup fine. Backing up all data on PC's within network fine. I can't get it to connect to the Internet to do an Anti-Virus update. I have the NAS wired to a home network that has a Netgear GS2018E switch. Internet comes in through a sattelite modem plugged into the switch. The NAS was previously connected directly to a Nighthawk Wireless Router.
Welcome feedback.
Thanks,
JB

Some other folks are reporting errors with AV updates. It's not clear if this is actually due to internet connectivity - in at least one case, Netgear is seeing OOM conditions.
Have you checked specifically for internet connectivity? If you are syncing your clock to an internet time server (which I think is the default setting), you can do this by downloading the log zip file, and looking in connman.log. Successful NTP time adjustments indicate that the NAS is connecting. For instance,
Aug 01 00:09:07 RN524 connmand[4276]: ntp: adjust (slew): +0.001594 sec Aug 01 00:26:11 RN524 connmand[4276]: ntp: adjust (slew): +0.000529 sec Aug 01 00:43:15 RN524 connmand[4276]: ntp: adjust (slew): -0.001991 sec Aug 01 01:00:19 RN524 connmand[4276]: ntp: adjust (slew): +0.000053 sec Aug 01 01:01:07 RN524 connmand[4276]: ntp: adjust (slew): +0.000650 sec
If this isn't happening, then check the DNS server configuration on the NAS. One possibility is that you manually set it to use your old ISP server (before you moved).

Thanks for the suggestion on the clock. It is connecting...just pulled this from the connman.log...it has consistently updated since I connected to this network. jb

Then it's likely the issue others have reported. FWIW, I'm not seeing this problem.
If you are comfortable using ssh, you can update the definitions manually. You'd log in as root, and use the NAS admin password. Then just enter this:
# freshclam
