RN3220 hard disk volumes in red

Hi,

This unit is from end-user, so I'm helping to troubleshoot and trying to recover the data. All the files are video from CCTV. From what I was told, all 12 hard drives are kept after the backup completed. These hard drives will be kept for a year, so one day, user insert all the hard drives to retrieve a video but they can't. The folders appear but it cannot be access due to spelling of the name.

Then I've login the admin page and saw all the hard disk is in red color. The only setting I can do is format disk. From the admin page, I clicked the Diagnostics and some error logs appeared. I'll attach some screenshot to make it clearer. Anyway, this unit is used as local network, no network is connected at all.

Please help suggest what I can do to retrieve the data. If more information needed, please let me know. Thank you very much.

  • Hi,

I guess there no exact way to recover all hard disk to normal mode. But I have figured out one way to recover the data, at least:

    1. Go to boot menu

    2. choose to boot Read-Only Volume

    3. copy any files that needed

This way does help me to recover files but if you have large size and a lot of files, you need another sets of hard disk to copy all the files.

        Hi DaneA,

        Thank you.

I have browse through the NETGEAR Support. By looking into Troubleshooting section, I've read the articles but there's no guide to retrieve or recover the hard disk. Is there an answer or guide that able to lead me with this situation?
