RN426 Upgrade 4x4Tb to 6x4tb
Vielen Dank
You can just hot-insert the new disks (with the NAS running). Do this one disk at a time, and wait for the resync to complete before adding the next.
If you are using X-RAID, then you can also hot-insert two larger disks (6 TB or more).
The volume will grow by 8 TB if you add 2x4TB; and 10 TB if you add 2x6 TB.
Be careful on the disk models - many drives in the 2-6 TB range use SMR technology, which is not well-suited for RAID. Enterprise class drives are fine, as are WD Red Plus and Seagate Ironwolf. Avoid the WD Reds, as they are SMR.
