RND2110-100NAS management
After not using my NAS for at least several years, I would like to get the steps for upgrading the firmware (if needed) or even just getting access to it from a Mac. I have tried to use the RaidAR 6.3.0 but it can not find any NAS on the network. I am not sure if I have any data on the 1TB drive which is the only drive in the NAS. I would like to find out if there is any data on the drive. I just tried to boot up the NAS without any drives installed in it. RaidAR has not been able to detect the NAS in that case either. Is there any other way to troubleshoot what issues I may be running into?
P.S. I have not been able to install the RaidAR 4.3.8 as it requires an legacy version of Java

Are you able to find an IP address assigned to the NAS in your router's attached device list?

I actually "hardwired" the NAS' MAC address to a specific IP address. And, I have been able to start a TimeMachine backup on it. The question I have now is why Apple's TimeMachine says I only have 601 GB total capacity when it is a 1TB. Although I have some data on the drive from previous uses, I do not think it is taking up 302 GB of space. The readout on the management console for the space left is a little better but still 363 GB out of 925GB. How can I figure out where all this data is stored on my one hard drive? I am backing up a good amount of data over the network. But, TimeMachine says the entire backup will take 11 hours! Will this improve much if I am directly hardwired to my router? Also, I am debating whether I want to upgrade the drive to a 2TB or get a USB connected device like the 8TB WD my book drive. I know in some of your previous posts you have mentioned the Seagate "ironwolf" or the WD red drives. Is this still the recommended vendors ?
I'm not a mac user, so it's probably best for someone else to address the timemachine questions.

They are good choices for your NAS. Note the hardware compatibility list for your NAS hasn't been updated for years, so it really isn't a useful guide.
