RND4000 Stuck at 13% when booting

Hi

The device is out of warranty. Serial number 23J5197M00AFE

So far I have attempted testing drive to see if that gets any results. They all appear to be good.

I have reinstalled the OS - still the same result.

I have read articles that indicate it may be a full OS partition.  SSH does not appear to installed.

I have had to use an old Win7 Machine to get to the Web interface and have been able to download the System Logs but they do not make much sense to me. It is a ZIP file so will not upload 😞

I also have a backup of the configuration but have not tried a restore yet.

I have a few minutes of access before it locks up.

Is any one able to suggest further options to be able to access the storage.

Regards

Graham

  • Eventually got to the Factory reset stage.

This worked but disk 2 showed as failed which may have been the problem all along but no other evidence.

Replaced the disk a did another Factory reset and all came back golden. 🙂

Did full Shutdown restart to find that disk 2 reported as dead. 😞

tried a couple of other disks in Slot 2. They also reported dead.  Beginning to suspect that Slot 2 is faulty.

Tried another disk and it is now syncing.

I think that slot two may be playing up so will see how it goes with the thought that is has gone past its best and needs replacing.

Which is a good thing, since there is some privacy leakage (so the full log zip shouldn't be shared publicly).

What you can do is ask the mods ( Mark_V and JeraldM ) if they are willing to take look at them.  If they are, you can upload the full zip to cloud storage (google drive, icloud, dropbox, etc), and send them a download link using the private message (PM).  You can send a PM using the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page.

Is your NAS is running 4.1.x firmware?  Or is it running 5.3.x?

      Thanks for the reply.

As far as I know it is V4.?

I will PM the Mods to see what they can suggest.

Look for raidiator_version.log in the log zip file.  If it's there, then open it - it will include the firmware version.

For example,  my own NV+ has this:

        RAIDiator!!version=4.1.16,time=1495530915
