RNR 4450 (HARD DISK COMPATIBILITY) HELP !!!

Hi there.

we want to upgrade our old RNR4450-100EUS (that is the number on the rack! there is no 'X' neither 'NAS 21000' on the machine - confused).

i cannot find compatible HARD-Disks for that model.

Any help appreciated.

I believe you have an ReadyNAS 1100 (a v1 platform running a sparc chip).

The HCL for that product hasn't been updated in years, so it is not useful.  You can use a WDC or Seagate enterprise drive, or a NAS-purposed drive (WDC Red or Seagate Ironwolf).  The drives need to be <= 2 TB, since the product does not support GPT formatting.

omg, the "1100" was on the front lid - i just found it. 4450 is on all other stickers.

      Thanks for your help!!

I would recommend upgrading to a new NAS. The ReadyNAS 1100 is very slow by current standards and hasn't been produced in nearly a decade. We had one until the the power supply popped and died a few years ago - so from a hardware reliability standpoint, you might want something newer too.
