Seeking verification of 3 core requirement to upgrade to 314
I have an existing NV+ and have three essential requirements to upgrade to a 314 unit and
I think my NV+ does not do these -
1) Can the 314 be configured to reboot after a power outage or is this the behaviour by default?
My NV+ does not do this and yes I know an ups will help.
2) Can the 314 accept and fully use the new WD Red 6TB drives?
3) Is the 314 compatible with Windows 8.1 System Image Backup?
It does not seem to work with my NV+
Sorry if considered lazy, but I have tried to dig the answers out of the online PDFs.
Many thanks for any help.

As per http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641, the WD RED WD60EFRX is the only 6TB model listed that is compatible with the RN314. - AlanSmith1961AspirantThanks Ixa ... anyone get any views on my other two questions?
Thanks for any help

2) Yes, as Ixa mentioned above.
3) I think this should be possible on the 314. It may require some configuration changes on your PC and/or NAS. Try running a backup and if you get an error let us know what it is and we can go from there. - AlanSmith1961Aspirant

Thanks for that. 2 out of three cleared up and one to go.
I've been doing a little more research on the system image backup and it appears that this is a known issue.
The error I get when trying to create a system image backup under Windows 8 is ...
"The version does not support this version of the file format (0xC03A0005)".
It appears that this relates to "Sparse file system", SMB versions and "strict allocate = yes" in the SMB config file etc.
All of which means absolutely nothing to a mere mortal like me! I just want an out of box solution that works.
I did find a Netgear Kb this morning which seems highly relevant and does inspire a degree of confidence wrt an upgrade to the 314 ...

To nail it, perhaps I should post separately to ask if anyone is getting Win8 System image backup to work on a 314 without any techno twiddling!

- ljungTutorI just tried the system image backup in windows 8.1 to my RN202 and it worked great.
