Unfortunately not. I have read multiple posts by the developers that it is not as critical as it once was. They have integrated a number of checks to make sure that the data will not get over-written, however, I can't offer any first-hand experience.

That's good, as it has the most checks for disk "signatures" to prevent accidental over-writing.
